Obituary of Jeanne Rae Cameron

Jeanne Rae Cameron passed away on May 27, 2025. She was 94 years old.

Born in Scranton, PA, to parents Erwin T. and Hilda (nee Dieter) Correll, Jeanne attended and graduated from Bloomfield High School. She was a longtime resident of Sparta, NJ, and lived in both Manchester, NJ, and Seven Lakes, NC, before settling in Basking Ridge in 2017. She was a woman of faith and a parishioner of both the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta and Grace Presbyterian Church in Montclair.

Jeanne married the love of her life, the late James Cameron, Sr., on June 11, 1949 and began their family soon after. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed caring for her husband, raising her children, and her two German Shepherds – Heidi and Liebchen - and keeping a beautiful home. She and her husband enjoyed playing golf together and she was an avid Bingo player during her years in Manchester. For a short while, Jeanne sold real estate in Sparta and found much satisfaction in pairing people to their perfect homes. She very much enjoyed her trip to Greece with friends and her trip to Scotland with her husband, daughter and granddaughter where they visited the “Old Course” in St. Andrews and the seat of the Cameron Family Clan. 

Jeanne is predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Cameron, Sr., and her son, James Cameron, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Laurie and her husband Richard Brueckner of Bedminster, NJ, grandchildren Richard F. Jr. and his wife Paula Brueckner of Morristown, NJ, James Clark Cameron Brueckner of Portland, OR, and Sydnie Alexandra Brueckner and her husband Matthew Russell of Ormond Beach, FL and two great grandchildren Greyson and Leah. She will be missed dearly.

A private graveside service was held for her family. She rests peacefully with her husband at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.
