Obituary of Hans Heymann Jr

Hans Heymann Jr., 72, of Annandale New Jersey passed peacefully into our Lord’s arms at the Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown NJ, on Saturday June 21st, 2025, following a courageous battle with multiple ailments.

Born May 15th, 1953 to Hans Heymann Sr. and Jeanne Roquemore Heymann of Mendham NJ, Hans was predeceased by his parents, sister Mary Heymann-Shell and brother Brooks Sr. He is survived by brothers Paul and Andrew, sister Maia; nephews William, Bernhard, Brooks Jr, and Jack & James Maloney; nieces Emily, Amelia, Caroline and Alyssa; and cousins Richard and John Roquemore, Suzanne Ennis and Elizabeth Wigham.

Hans was a graduate of Mendham High School, Boston University, and Rutgers University, where he received a Master’s in Business Administration. He retired from AT&T as a Senior Planning Manager, with follow-on careers in telecommunications equipment supply and health care management.

Hans enjoyed farming, animal husbandry, home improvement, fishing, hiking, political discourse, and good music – notably, the Grateful Dead. Most of all, he enjoyed helping his family, friends and neighbors, and being a mentor to his many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the medical staff at the many facilities that cared for Hans, his neighbors, and most especially, his long-time friend and caregiver, Marilyn Epright of Flemington NJ.

Visitation will be at the Bailey Funeral Home at 176 Main St. in Peapack NJ on June 27th from 4-7 PM.  The funeral service will be June 28th at 1:00 PM at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 182 Main St in Gladstone, with a reception to follow. Interment will be in St. Luke’s Memorial Garden at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans’ name to St. Luke’s Church Children & Youth Ministry.
