Obituary of Marilyn M Morrow

Marilyn M. Morrow was a lifelong resident of Somerset County.  Born at home on Mt. Airy Road in Basking Ridge on October 23, 1934 to Josephine Miller (Nee Pope) and Charles F. Miller, she passed away at Laurel Circle Senior Home on July 8, 2025.

She attended Bernards Township Grammar School, and attended Bernards High School, graduating in 1953,

Soon thereafter, she began her lifelong career as a Banker, starting as a cashier at Somerset Bank and Trust in Bernardsville, NJ.  Thereafter, she was employed after several acquisitions of Somerset Bank, at Wells Fargo Bank.

Then she was employed by the Peapack Gladstone Bank, first as a cashier, then in the Wealth Management Section, all totalling, for 38 years.  She made many friends with her co-employees at the bank and socially.

She enjoyed dinner out with her friends, neighbors, bank co-employees, and members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.  Pets were loved by her, both dogs and cats, and she had many until the later years of her life.

Marilyn and her two husbands, Wayne and then Skeeter, were all life long devoted Episcopalians.  All were baptized at St. Bernard's Episcopal Church or St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and confirmed at St. Bernard's Episcopal Church or St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Basking Ridge.

Father Maxwell married Marilyn and Wayne at St. Bernard's Episcopal Church on June 30, 1955.  In 1988 Marilyn and Wayne purchased their home at 30 Pottersville Road in Gladstone, NJ.  They lived there until Wayne passed away in September, 1997.

Marilyn then married Harold L. Crater, Jr., the second love of her life, on June 20th, 1998 by the Reverend Hewitt Johnson.  They continued to live at 30 Pottersville Road until Skeeter passed away on March 1st, 2019.

Marilyn passed away leaving no surviving relatives, on July 8th, 2025.  She was predeceased  by her mother, and then her father, and she leaves a circle of neighbors, friends, and acquaintances, all of whom were like family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th, from 3-5pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack, NJ.  A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 182 Main St. in Gladstone, NJ.  Interment will follow the service at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
