Obituary of Cecilia Kopec

Cecilia Kopec passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Florham Park.  She was 98 years old.

Cecilia was born in Bayonne, NJ to immigrant parents Stanley and Agnes Czech, and lived there her entire life before moving to Mendham, NJ in 2007.

She worked for RCA in Harrison, NJ in the electronics testing division for 15 years.

She was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Parish in Bayonne. 

Her family will remember her as an avid gardener, and a generous person with her time and resources.  She enjoyed vacationing with family, Polka dancing and was an advocate of environmentalism, healthy eating, and exercise long before it came to the forefront.   She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1979, her brother Teddy, and her sisters Anna and Helen.

She is survived by her two sons Robert of Stockholm, NJ and Kenneth and his wife Kathleen of Brookside, NJ.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Matthew Kopec, Stephen Kopec, Joseph Kopec, Lindsay Stein and her husband Daniel and Kristen Patterson and her husband Scott and three great-grandchildren, Madeline and Charlotte Stein and Eugene Patterson.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
