Obituary of Dale H Cavalero

Dale Howard Cavalero passed away on October 31, 2024. Dale is survived by his wife Jessica; sons Peter and William; parents Robert and Frances Cavalero; brother Robert and sister Jennifer Cavalero; and his niece Olivia Cavalero. Dale is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved brother Peter George and uncle Howard Cavalero, and grandparents Howard and Patricia Cavalero, and Francis and Alice Hallett.

Born on November 10, 1987, Dale spent his early childhood in Montclair, NJ, before moving to Mendham, NJ. A graduate of West Morris Mendham High School and Fairfield University, Dale was living with his family in Morristown, NJ, at the time of his death. After college, he joined his brother Robert as the fourth generation of Cavaleros at their family-owned Catholic Book Publishing Corp. in Totowa, NJ.

Dale is remembered by family and friends for his intellect, sense of humor, and musical talent. An avid reader, Dale could always be relied on to share interesting facts or teach others about a new topic. He shared his love and knowledge of geography, music, computers, timepieces, and wrestling with others.

A talented musician, Dale played acoustic, rhythm, and lead guitar along with bass guitar in several bands. He shared his passion for Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, and the Allman Brothers Band with his adored sons, instilling in them a love of Classic and Southern Rock.

It was rare to find Dale without a guitar in his hand, but when you did he was most likely enjoying fishing and boating with his friends and family. He enjoyed his summers at Charleston Lake in Ontario, Canada, where Dale could be found happily behind the wheel of a boat with a cigar in hand.

While Dale was a gifted man with many talents, his most prized role was as a parent to Peter and William along with his beloved wife Jessica whom he loved more than anything. Whether it was going on a new adventure with his family or just hanging at home, he cherished his time with his wife and sons, and will forever be remembered for his love and kindness.

Passionate and supportive of those in need, Dale generously donated his time and resources to others. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to the Market Street Mission in Morristown, NJ.

Visiting hours will be from 3pm to 8pm, Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ 07945.
