Obituary of Michael A. Amato

Michael A. Amato passed away on Jan. 6, 2012. He was 64. Born in Cincinnati, OH, he has lived in N. Plainfield for the last 30 years. Michael served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Police Sergeant for the Plainfield Police Department for 28 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the NJ Honor Legion and the American Legion Post # 219 in Plainfield. Survivors include his wife Donna L. Amato (nee Kiwior) of Plainfield, one son Jeffrey Amato,; three daughters Virginia, Laurie and Jennifer; one brother John Amato of Long Valley; two sisters Gail Haines of Alaska and Jeanne Abbott of Exeter, NH. He is also survived by several grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack. Funeral Service Tuesday evening 7pm in the funeral home. . Interment Wednesday depart 11am from the funeral home. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery Chester.
