Obituary of Violet Mitchell

Violet Mitchell passed away on December 30, 2024.  She was 91 years old.

Born in Rahway, NJ to parents John and Myrtle Balas, Violet grew up in Metuchen, NJ and graduated from Metuchen High School.

Violet was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering her time with Meals on Wheels in Monroe Township, NJ.  She loved a good puzzle.  She was the best Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. 

She was at her happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Violet is predeceased by her husband, Edmund Mitchell.  They were happily married for 58 years.  She is survived by her children, Susan and her husband Garry, Scott and his wife Kathleen and Gary and his wife Sharon.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeffrey, Andrew, Jessica, Madison and Scotty and her great grandchildren Jase, Elijah, Kiki, Ellie, RyRy and Ari.

Violet will join her beloved husband at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Violet’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels.
