Obituary of Sharon Ann Tarinelli

Sharon Ann Tarinelli entered eternal life peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Paterson, NJ, to Ralph and Bette (McKernan) Powers, Sharon grew up in Montclair and later raised her family in Chatham with her beloved husband of 55 years. For the past 25 years, she resided in Pottersville, NJ, where she became a cherished member of the community.

Sharon's love for her family, friends, and community was boundless. Her favorite role was being a grandmother, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Some of her favorite activities with them included skiing, painting, puzzling, cooking, baking, snuggling, and setting the table for big family dinners.

Professionally, Sharon excelled in sales at Dun & Bradstreet for over 15 years before founding her own successful pharmaceutical recruiting firm, Ardsley Associates. She was not only a talented businesswoman but also a gifted artist who loved to paint florals and natural scenery. Her beautiful hand-painted cards, each with a handwritten note, were famous among friends and family. Sharon was also an avid skier, frequently visiting Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, VT.

Sharon found great joy in volunteering with local organizations such as LifeCamp in Pottersville, the Visiting Nurses Association, and Mane Stream. She was also a proud member of the Pottersville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her community.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Anthony Tarinelli; her son Michael (Erin) Tarinelli; her daughter Tracey (Michael) Kenney; her sisters Maureen Powers, Mary Beth Powers, Kathleen (Steve) Gowen, Jacqueline Powers, Colleen Powers, and Margaret Powers; her brothers Martin (Ellen) Powers and Michael (Joan) Powers; sister-in-law Marguerite Rogers (Bob) and her cherished grandchildren Gabriella and Daniel Tarinelli and Sophia and Emma Kenney. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ralph, Charles, Ann Powers, and brother-in-law John O’Neill.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, from 4-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 17, at 10:30 AM at St. Brigid Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack. Entombment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
