Obituary of Patricia Ann Hettling

Patricia Ann Hettling passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old.

She was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Madison with her husband, before settling in Mendham, where she has called home since 1964.

Patricia was very proud to be a nurse at St. Clare’s in Dover and was a true ray of light to all she met while working there for 36 years, retiring in 2017.

She was very active at St. Joseph’s church in Mendham where she was a member of the bible studies group and enjoyed her time with close friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Carl, her brothers, Gregory, Thomas and Michael. She is survived by her son Carl F. Hettling Jr. of Brooklyn, her daughter, Kristen Paustian of Mendham, her brothers Daniel Cahill of Morristown and Mark Cahill of Virginia as well as her grandchildren Carl F. Hettling III, Jacklyn Paustian, Maria Arrigo, Michael and Matthew McCarthy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 19, 2025 from 1-5 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. A Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00am on Monday January 20, at St. Joseph’s church, Mendham, NJ. Interment will be private.
