Obituary of Jean V. Lawrie

Jean Lawrie, born January 12, 1944 in Morristown, NJ, died January 24, 2025, having lived a full and productive life.  She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mildred Vibbert, her sister Sharon Freudenberg and daughter Robin Lawrie.  She leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years Elliott “Sandy” Lawrie, her son Robert Lawrie and his wife Kimberly, and their two sons Christian and Aidan.  She also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. 

Jean graduated Morristown High in the Class of 62.   She worked for many years for Dr. Kenneth Press and Dr. Steven Silverman in Morristown. 

Jean was an active member of her community in Mendham where she lived for 60 years.  She had a penchant for antiquing and creating arts and crafts with her beloved daughter Robin.  She actively participated in her son’s school and extracurricular activities.

 Jean was a social butterfly with a large circle of life-long friends.  She will be dearly missed by her family and extended family, but will be forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28 from 4-8 at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Jan 29 at 10:30 at Bailey Funeral Home, immediately followed by interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
