Obituary of Joseph Peter Cangelosi

Joseph Peter Cangelosi, of Basking Ridge died peacefully on January 23, 2012 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was 88. Born in Morristown, he lived in Newark and Union before moving to Basking Ridge 20 years ago. Mr. Cangelosi served in the Army during WWII. He worked as a Customs clerk for Atlantic Container Line in Port Newark for 25 years before retiring in 1989. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His wife Elizabeth Inez Cangelosi, his sister Margaret Rich and his brothers Julius and Ralph died previously. Survivors include one son Joseph Cangelosi and his wife Louise of Woodbridge, one daughter Anita McGuire and her husband James of Bernardsville, three grandchildren Jennifer Reedman of Greenbrook, NJ, Benjamin Williams of London, England and Stacy Cangelosi of Brooklyn, NY and three great grandchildren Tyler, Emma and Abigail. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St., Peapack. Funeral Mass Thursday 10:30 am in St. Brigid Church, Peapack.
