Obituary of Arthur John Ericksen
Arthur J. Ericksen, Jr., MD, formerly of Berkeley Heights, died peacefully on March 8, 2012 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 83.
Born in Staten Island, he lived in Berkeley Heights, NJ where he had a private medical practice for 40 years before retiring in 2002.
Dr. Ericksen completed his undergraduate studies at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY and received his MD from Flower Fifth Avenue Medical School (now N.Y.M.C.) in Manhattan in 1957.
He served as a medic in both the Navy and the Marines. Entered into active service on May 3rd, 1946 and was honorably discharged on March 3rd, 1953 (PHARMICISTS MATE THIRD USNR-R) Squadron MCAS, El Toro (Santa Ana, Ca.)
His family will always remember him as a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and for that ever joyful spirit.
Survivors include two sons; Dr. Alan Ericksen and his wife Alison of Franklin, TN; Glenn Ericksen of Long Valley, NJ; one daughter Dale Mulcahy and her husband Michael of Long Valley. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Ashley, Brittany and Craig Ericksen and KellyLynn, Elissa, Michael and Brielle Mulcahy.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. A Memorial service will be held later that day at 7:00 pm at the Grace Fellowship Chapel in Bedminster.
