Obituary of Peter Michael Bosco

Peter M. Bosco of Mendham, NJ, passed away on April 12, 2012. He was born in Nov. 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Queens. He earned full scholarships to Bishop Loughlin High School and City College of NY where he graduated with a degree in Chemistry. Peter served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1970. He lived with wife and family in Hopewell Junction, NY and Brookfield, CT before moving to Mendham, NJ in 1985. He had a distinguished career in food research and development holding many patents in the creation of well-known products such as Egg Beaters, Cool Whip & College Inn Broth while working for Standard Brands and Nabisco. Peter had a passion for golf and enjoyed a long time membership with many friends at Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham, NJ. Those close to him will always remember his charismatic personality, smile, special kind of humor, love of music and talent for playing guitar. He never missed yearly vacations with family in Cape Cod and Cancun. He could fix just about anything and prided himself on keeping things patched together for as long as possible. He lived a fun and fulfilling life full of crazy stories and successes most could only dream of. With his rare mix of intellect and down-to-earth charm, he connected with everyone. Even during his health challenges, he lit up the room with his gap-toothed smile and blue eyes. He never complained and never wanted anyone to worry. He was truly the "World's Best" and a champion in all he did during his incredible 69 years of life. He was predeceased by his mother Filomena, father Peter and brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife Joan with whom he shared nearly 50 years, son Peter J. Bosco and wife Deanna of Lower Saucon, PA, daughters Adrianna Rey and husband Pablo of Hatfield, PA and Gabrielle Bernardo and husband Charlie of Morris Plains, NJ, sister Rita Jacino of East Moriches, NY, and grandchildren Daniela, Melissa, Alexandra, Nickolas and Charlie Jr. Visitation will be held on Monday April 16th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham, NJ. Funeral mass will be held at Church of the Assumption, 91 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ on Tuesday April 17th at 10:00am. Interment following mass will be limited to immediate family. A luncheon for family and friends celebrating Peter's life will be held at Roxiticus Golf Club, 179 Bliss Rd, Mendham, NJ at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter M. Bosco may be made to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, 475 South St, Morristown, NJ 07960 or online at www.f4mmc.org which will be directed to cancer research.
