Obituary of Margaret M. Sharkey

Margaret “DiDi” Sharkey passed away peacefully at home in Mendham on November 21, 2012. She was 59. Born in Ardmore, PA to Joseph and Marion Muldoon. She lived in Downingtown, PA before moving to Mendham 22 years ago. DiDi received her BS from Mount St. Mary’s College in 1977. She was an educator at the Mendham Township Elementary School for the last 15 years. DiDi was an avid tennis player and was active in Mendham with the National Junior Tennis League. She also co-founded a summer youth tennis program and taught tennis in Mendham for many years. Her family will remember her as a loving wife and mother who was dedicated to her family and many friends. Anyone who met her loved her immediately. Survivors include her husband David Sharkey, three sons David, Jr, and his wife Tara of Burlington, VT, John and his wife Rebecca of Ithaca, NY and Graham and his fiancé Megan Messmenn of Long Beach, NY; her mother Marion Muldoon; two brothers Joseph and William Muldoon; three sisters Marion Franklin, Michell Muldoon and Madeline Muldoon-Brook. She is also survived by her grandson Jack. The family will receive friends on Saturday Nov. 24, 2012 from 9:00am until 10:30am at The Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham.
