Obituary of Bruce E. Pereyra

Bruce E. Pereyra, ofTewksbury,NJ, loving husband, father, and brother, passed away onMay 15, 2013atNew YorkWeillCornellMedicalCenterafter battling MDS, a rare form of leukemia. He was 73. Born inBrooklyn,NY, to T. Edwin and Elizabeth Pereyra, he grew up inMillingtonandShort Hills,NJ. He graduated fromMillburnHigh Schoolin 1958. He resided inGladstonefor twenty-seven years before moving toTewksburyin 1997. After graduation from the Wharton School of Business,UniversityofPennsylvania, Bruce was an Investment Banker for twenty-six years, working for several investment firms including Kidder Peabody, First Boston, and Adler Coleman. He was a founding partner of Ebtron and was the president of Ebtron Sales. Bruce lived a life of service to others. In his earlier years, he was active with the Boy Scouts of America, coached soccer for his children's teams and served on the Board of Education in Peapack Gladstone. As a dedicated and valued member of Lamington Presbyterian Church he served as elder and as treasurer. Many summers he was involved in leading a mission group toWest Virginiato benefit Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his wife of forty- eight years, Barbara Fox Pereyra; two sons Thomas Dean Pereyra of Westhampton Beach, NY, and David Bruce Pereyra of Whitehouse Station, NJ; one daughter Cynthia Pereyra Noonan of Berkeley, CA; one brother Wally Pereyra of Seattle, WA; two sisters Nancy Shegog and Ellie Bobilin of SC: and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald, in 1987. The family will receive friends onFriday, May 24, 2013from5:30pmuntil7:30pmat the Lamington Presbyterian Church,355 Lamington Rd.,Bedminster,NJ. A Memorial Service is11:00amSaturday, May 25, 2013at the church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lamington Presbyterian Church, General Endowment Fund.
