Obituary of Joseph William Scher
BEDMINSTER – Joseph William Scher, 82, died on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home, after a brief illness.
Born in Newark NJ to the late George and Wilma Dolores (Lucking) Scher, he lived in Bedminster for over 50 years, having moved there from Short Hills.
Mr. Scher was a Professional Engineer, and an owner of Weber and Scher Manufacturing Company in Lebanon Borough, NJ.
He was a parishioner of St. Brigid R. C. Church in Peapack for many years, a member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), a member of the Essex Hunt Club and the Essex Fox Hounds, a past member of the Bedminster Planning Board, and a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Thayer School of Engineering where he received a Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Joan Pinhero, two sons, Douglas Scher and his wife Ann, and Greg Scher and his wife Lee; and six grandchildren.

A visitation was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Father Andrew Smith officiating. A private burial followed the Mass.
